Friends Fall Speaker Series Begins Oct 19

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 19th- 2:00p.m.
at Sunshine Hall Free Library
Bo Stevens and Chryse Goodman

Bo and Chryse had not traveled out of the United States since their honeymoon in 1979 when Chryse was asked by a friend to join her in 2017 climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. This popular and challenging climb opened the world for them. Following that first trip, in 2019, they went to Uganda to hike in the Mountains of the Moon, a World Heritage Site of otherworldly beauty. In Uganda they also walked in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, one of the last remaining refuges of the Mountain Gorilla. They saw amazing wildlife but also met committed naturalists, tour guides and community organizers. They celebrated their 40th anniversary on a walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda. It’s impossible to know these places well in a short period of time, but Bo and Chryse want to share what they did learn and see.
