Friends Fall Speaker Series continues Sunday November 4 at 2:00 PM

Mary McDonnell, a local artist, will give a talk on the life and artwork of Christiane Gourrier Geffers. Christiane (b. Paris, France) lived in Barryville since the 1970’s. Her life centered around Sunshine Hall Free Library’s French Club, painting and cooking. Christiane’s paintings will be on display.

John Conway presents Ghostly Tales and Hauntings of Sullivan County October 28 at 2:00

A number of great ghost stories have been set in Sullivan County. But, not all Sullivan County ghost stories are fictional. John Conway examines some venerable ghost stories that are based on actual historical events.

John Conway is an author, and the Official Sullivan County Historian. He has published a regular column in the Times Herald-Record and several titles with the Purple Mountain Press.

“Flight of The Fox”  is a fast paced thriller that begins in Bethel, N.Y. on the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock when an innocent math professor is forced to run for his life, as a  group of mini-drones attack him and a team of hitmen try to prevent the publication of their government’s dark history. This is a well written, Must Read Thriller you won’t be able to put down.

 

 

Gray Basnight worked for almost 30 years in New York City as a radio and television news producer, writer, editor, reporter, and newscaster.  Gray will be reading from Flight of the Fox.
